Following the surrender of the lease for the site of the Moorooka Sports and Community Club last year, Council's Community Facilities Team advertised for tenders to be lodged for the site.
Nine tenders were received from not-for-profit organisations wishing to be considered. Of those, two applicants were short listed for further negotiation regarding their proposals. The details of these agencies are commercial in confidence, both have provided detailed proposals and are very competitive.
The Assessment Panel has requested that they provide additional information to assist with the final decision in March. I have been advised that both proposals have indicated that Futsal will continue at the site, and that they will keep the club accessible to the public.
I am very pleased that this matter is reaching finality and that the decision will soon be made that will see the site rejuvenated and providing valuable services to our local community.
