It is with great sadness to announce the recent passing of George McNeill at 90 years of age.
I had the pleasure of getting to know George through his tireless conservation efforts in Russ Hall Park and the Rocky Waterholes Creek Bushcare Group, Salisbury.
George volunteered his time and effort over many years, single handedly planting native trees to assist with the regeneration of the local bushland habitat. Bush care revegetation was his passion and through his efforts, George leaves behind an outstanding legacy of a healthy and thriving wildlife corridor.
I am pleased to announce that we will be honouring George, in conjunction with his family, by planting a kauri pine near the duck pond in Russ Hall Park in the future.
